  • Henry Gabriel is a playwright, novelist and essayist, and native of Glasgow. He has had several productions of his plays in London, at the Edinburgh Festival, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre and the Glasgow Citizens.
    His first Novel The Inner Case was published in 1989 and was acclaimed as the 'Book of the Week' in the Scottish Sunday Post, Scotland's largest Sunday newspaper.
    His book of philosophical essays, Forward To Methuselah and a Detective Satire, Masks of Eros were published respectively in 1996 and 1997. In 2004-5, The Historical Mission of Evil was published, a psychoanalytic perspective on the historical origin of Evil. He presented a paper from this book at the 5th Annual Conference on Evil and Human Wickedness in Prague, 2004.
    He has just completed a full length play in which the characters are Sigmund Freud, Anna Freud, Albert Einstein, Immanuel Velikovsky and Arnold Zweig.
    He was psychoanalyzed by Karl Abenheim who studied under both Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. R. D. Laing was a student of Karl Abenheim.

  • Giuliana Porzio, M.D, was born in Naples in 1956. In 1990 she specializes with honors in Psychiatry. She follows personal Jungian, Lacanian and Freudian analyses and follows courses in her areas of study, receiving a diploma from the Lacanian Freudian Institute of Rome.
    She has also worked in Local Health Authorities, in Turin in 1991 for the Drug Abuse Service and in 1992 in Bra (Piemonte) as assistant psychiatrist.
    She is currently working as level 1 Psychiatry Department manager at the Rivoli and Pinarolo Local Health Authority, applying analytically-based psychotherapeutic methods and promoting cooperation with the Local Child Neuropsychiatry Service.
    She has published works on Pediatric Cardiology, Psychoanalysis and Psychiatry.

  • Adam Rosen-Carole is a visiting professor of philosophy at Bard College, NY. He is a contributor to journals such as “The Psychoanalytic Quarterly”, “Ethical Perspectives”, “Pli”, “Glossator”, “Alternatives”, “The New Centennial Review”, “Sofia Philosophical Review”, and others. He is the author of two books, Lacan and Klein: An Essay of Re-Introduction, and Plurality and Perspective: On the Nature and Status of Psychoanalytic Knowledge (forthcoming, 2010 and 2011, respectively, at Lexington Books). His research interests include philosophy and the claims of suffering, literary modernism, German Idealism and Critical Theory. [rosen@bard.edu]

  • Matthew Sharpe teaches psychoanalytic studies at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. He is the author of Understandig Psychoanalysis (Acumen 2008), Slavoj Zizek: A Little Piece of the Real (Ashgate 2004), and co-editor of Trauma, Historicty, Philosophy (Cambridge Scholars' Press 2008) and Traversing TheFantasy: Critical Responses To Slavoj Zizek (Ashgate 2004). Dr Sharpe has published over twenty refereed articles on psychoanalysis, critical theory and political philosophy.
