Annual Meeting Program - June 8-10, 2007 Letter to Members (see the 2008 Program)
March 1, 2008 Dear Friends and Colleagues, Greetings to all members of the Rapaport-Klein Study Group. We hope this has been a good year for you - personally and professionally. We are happy to invite you to our 45th annual meeting, which will be held on the June 13th, 14th, and 15th 2008, at the Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. We are again grateful to Paolo Migone for helping us maintain our electronic presence. Our website remains www.psychomedia.it/rapaport-klein to review the history of every meeting since the beginning of our group including many of the papers presented at our meetings. The website for this year's program is www.psychomedia.it/rapaport-klein/june2008.htm. If there are any changes in your e-mail address, please notify Paolo at <migone@unipr.it>. Again we expect that some of the papers presented this year will be posted. Any suggestions for improving our website are welcome and should also be sent to Paolo. We think you will be pleased with this year's program, which promises interesting contributions. On Friday evening, we are pleased to have Karlen Lyons-Ruth who will speak on "Disorganized/Controlling Attachment Strategies: Relations to Borderline Personality Traits." On Saturday morning, following time for a go-round to share our recent work, we are very pleased to have the opportunity to hear Robert Bornstein whose presentation is titled: "Might the Rorschach be a Projective Test After All?: Psychoanalytic Theory as a Unifying Framework for 21st Century Personality Assessment." Following lunch, the afternoon session will be given over to John Auerbach who will present "The Object Relations Inventory: From Object Representation to Intersubjectivity." There will be ample time for continued discussion of our Saturday presentations at the end of the day. Cocktails at the Lippmann's completes our Saturday. On Sunday, following our business meeting, we are very happy to present Ernst Prelinger who will speak on "Views on the Formation of Intrapsychic Representations of Aggression." We need to remind you that dues and fees for guests need to be paid as soon as possible. Space is limited and we request no more than one guest per member. Kindly call Doris Silverman (212-799-1577) or Paul Lippmann (413-298-3862), as soon as you can to let us know if you are inviting a guest. Overnight accommodations should be made soon since, as you know, it is busy time of the year in the Berkshires.
